Healthy eating isn’t about unrealistic diets and staying thin; It is about feeling good, having more energy, and keeping yourself healthy as possible. This can be achieved not only though what you eat, but also what you drink.

The average person would be surprised how much fat they consumed daily; from junk foods to takeout, it seems like a difficult if not impossible task to avoid fatty foods. By educating yourself about fat, it is possible to reduce if not avoid many saturated and trans fats in our diet; thus you can reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Also, healthy eating can enhance your energy levels, improve your memory and sense of well being. Start slow making gradual changes to your diet over a period of time; a crash diet is a recipe for failure. For example, instead of having french fries with your hamburger try having a salad, or instead of having a bag of potato chips for a snack eat an apple; try to gradually include fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your diet. As your small changes become habits, consider making larger dietary changes.

In reference to drinks, the human body is mostly water. It is reasonable to assume when we substitute sugary drinks for pure water we can negatively affect functions in our bodies dependent on water. Because the average person doesn’t drink enough water, hunger is often mistaken for thirst. If you are one of the many who don’t care for the taste of water, there are other healthy beverages full of vitamins and minerals.
